Recruiting Through Your Levels

This diagram represents a Jamberry Nails consultant team that is large enough to be quite profitable and stable enough to provide ongoing growth. If you are having trouble determining realistic part-time goals, this illustration might be a great place to start! Each circle represents a person in your team. The lines that connect the circles are only used to signify the relationship between the circles.

The first level (L1) are people you've personally sponsored. They are known as your frontline. In this diagram, you have 6 of them. Each person you personally sponsor under you is the start of a new LEG. So you have 6 legs in this diagram. For the sake of space, the diagram is condensed. Imagine each of your L1s having L2s and L3s off of them.

Assume that each of your 6 legs has 6 people in L1, L2, and L3. The diagram only shows 1 leg with that many team-members. So the above team really consists of 217 people: you, your 6 frontline (your L1), your frontline's 6 frontline (your L2), and your frontline's frontline's 6 frontline (your L3).

The diagram could have shown five legs or seven or seventy. But six is a good starting goal number for a couple reasons. First, the minimum requirement for maintaining Team Manager (TM) rank is five active legs. If you only have five active legs and one leg decides to quit, then you lose our TM rank. So it's safer to have a cushion against that happening! You always want to go beyond the minimums when building your business, so even six isn't worth settling for! But it's good for this example.

Secondly, six is not too high of a number to achieve for almost anyone – even part time workers. Women love signing up in this business! It might not take that many parties before you'll have 6 women signed up as your frontline. You could sponsor 6 people within the first month or two if you take the business seriously and make that your goal.

Another good reason to use 6 is because it provides a good income level if your team is built the way it is pictured in the diagram. Using too big of numbers can intimidate people. It might be hard for you to imagine right now sponsoring 40 or even 100 people in your frontline. But surely you can picture having 6 on your team. On the other hand, using too small of numbers doesn't properly show the tremendous multiplication of income that is possible. Sponsoring 6 frontline team-members and teaching them to duplicate your effort is where things start to get very exciting in this business.

Finally, because 6 is a significant, yet very doable sponsoring goal for people serious about their business, it is easy to reset your goals to sponsoring 6 more when your first 6 are reached. So once you've sponsored 6 and taught your downline how to do the same, you can set out to sponsor a second set of 6, so that you'll have 12 in your frontline, and train your downline to do that as well. In this way, your team can grow massive in short bursts that don't drain you of time and emotional energy.

So let's run some numbers from the above diagram and see how profitable this 217 member team actually is. Prepare to smile.

Let's assume you can do 4 parties a month, or average 1 per week. Let's assume your parties average $300 in total sales. That's a decent party, not overly difficult to achieve. If you do 4 parties that average $300 per month, you will have total sales of $1200. This gives you your regular 30% commission plus a sales bonus of 5%. So you personally will make $420 per month from your 4 parties (35% of $300 x 4 parties). This amount of monthly personal sales volume easily meets the sales requirements for the highest ranks in Jamberry Nails.

You might be happy with an extra $420 per month income. But for just a little more work, you could earn so much more. We're not talking about selling more or even doubling your parties. We're talking about sponsoring 6 more people into your team.

If you sponsor 6 team-members on your frontline, you will see immediate income results if they merely duplicate your 4 parties per month. You receive what's called LEVEL OVERRIDES on the commissionable sales volume of everyone in your team in your first 3 levels downline. The commissionable sales volume is always 65% of the total sales volume. So you make a percentage on 65 cents of every dollar in sales.

You earn a level override of 12% from each team-member in your frontline. If each of your 6 frontline (L1) duplicates your effort, you'll earn an additional $562 for their sales (12% of 65% of $300 x 4 parties). So if you add your $420 with your L1's $562, you make $982 per month now.

In addition to the 12% override you make on your frontline, you make a 7% override on your L2s. If each of your L2s duplicate your effort, you'll earn an additional $1966 for their sales (7% of 65% of $300 x 4 parties). You're now earning $420 for your own parties, $562 for your L1's parties, and $1966 for your L2's parties, for a total of $2,948 per month.

In addition to the 12% override you make on your frontline, and the 7% override you make on your L2s. You also make 5% on your L3s. If your L3s duplicate your effort, you'll earn an additional $8,424 per month for their sales (5% of 65% of $300 x 4 parties)! You're now earning $420 for your own parties, $562 for your L1's parties, $1966 for your L2's parties, and $8424 for your L3's parties, for a total of $11,372 per month! That comes out to $136,464 per year!

You can see how quickly wealth builds as your network multiplies throughout your downline. This is why it's important for you to do more than just book parties for yourself and spend all your time micromanaging your personal customer sales. Getting started sponsoring your frontline and training them to sponsor their own frontline and them their frontline will take you from earning a mere $420 per month to $11,372 on just 4 average size parties each!

So your goal should be to sponsor as many people in your frontline as quickly as possible. You're making 12% of 65% of everything they sell! And you never know how many are going to stay in, quit, or build it like a rockstar. The odds are that you'll have to personally sponsor many more than 6 to get 6 rockstars who will duplicate your effort. And that's what you're shooting for.

You must also always be thinking of depth WHILE you're recruiting your frontline. So whenever you sign someone up as part of your frontline, don't just sponsor TO that person. Sponsor THROUGH that person. So don't just think, “Susan would love this business! I've got to get her to sign up!” Instead, you should think, “Susan would love this business! I've got to get her to sign up and immediately help her get her own frontline recruit!”

By making this a priority, you're always growing 2 levels at a time instead of just 1. That builds amazing momentum! So when Susan sees what a great business Jamberry Nails is (maybe at your launch party), she'll want to sign up. And you'll say, “I'm so glad you decided to do this! Who do you know right now who would be perfect to sign up under you?” Then you help Susan any way you need to so that she sponsors someone in her frontline asap. It might come from helping Susan do her own launch party.

When you make this your priority, you're training your recruits to duplicate you. So when Susan tells you that Jane is just perfect for Jamberry Nails, then you help Susan recruit Jane (maybe at Susan's launch party). And the first thing that Susan is going to say to Jane is, “I'm so glad you decided to do this! Who do you know right now who would be perfect to sign up under you?” And the process is now repeated into your L3.

When you get 6 frontline each doing the same thing with 6 of their own frontline, who also do the same thing with 6 of their own frontline (to an infinite number of levels), you are setting up every one of your legs for at least $11,372 per month in earnings. And it's going to grow to much more than that. Of course you realize that you'll be earning ever-increasing amounts of money WHILE you're building to this level. It might only take a few months to sponsor your six and have them on their way to duplicating you down to your L3.

In fact, we see in the Sponsoring Your Frontline post what would happen if you have 12 frontline sponsoring 12 frontline sponsoring 12 frontline. You would earn $76,797 per month! Isn't that amazing!!!? If each person in your team would double their frontline from 6 to 12, the income doesn't merely double. It leaps from $11,372 to $76,797 per month!

This is why it's important to work through your width (how many frontline you have) AND your depth at the same time, hopefully in 6 people bursts. You don't leave anyone hanging in your downline who asks you for help. You never know when she's going to be a rockstar and sponsor 6 or 12 frontline who will repeat the process.

Sponsoring Your Frontline

This is another numbers post. Maybe numbers don't inspire you. That's fine. This post is here in case numbers DO inspire you! And these numbers are inspirational!! You joined the Jamberry Nails team for a reason. Something got you excited about this business. You have been seriously reflecting on your WHY. And you've set some goals to get you headed in the right direction toward achieving your WHY. It doesn't matter if your WHY is to pay your car payment or to quit your full time job and own your life. Nothing will help you achieve that goal faster and more efficiently than sponsoring others into your team.

Those you personally sponsor are called your FRONTLINE. You can have 1 consultant or 10,000 in your frontline. It depends on how many people you contact in your network. Jamberry Nails pays very well on the sales volume of your frontline. From the Senior Lead Consultant rank and higher, you make 12% on the commissionable sales volume of your frontline. The commissionable sales volume equals 65% of the retail volume.

You earn 30% - 40% on your own sales volume. You earn 12% on the commissionable sales volume of your frontline. Does that make your heart race? If not, then think about this: Every time you sponsor 4 new people into the business, you have more than doubled your own effort (more than doubled because you can't cut people in half for the sake of math). Four frontline consultants on your team is like having 2 of you working. You earn 30% of your own sales. And you earn 12% of 65% of the sales for everyone in your frontline.

If a sheet of nails retails for $15, you would earn $4.50 of commission on that sheet if you sold it personally. If a member of your frontline sells a sheet for $15, you would earn $1.17 (12% of 65% of $15) on that sheet. So if you have 4 frontline consultants selling a sheet of nails, you'd earn $4.68 total ($1.17 x 4).

So... if you sponsor 12 people in your frontline, you have basically multiplied your effort by 3. 12 people in your frontline is like having 4 of yourself: you plus 3 other yous (since 12 is really just 3 sets of 4). If you sponsor 24 people in your frontline, you have 7 yous growing your business. If you sponsor 48 people in your frontline, you have have 12 yous growing your business. Imagine cloning yourself 12 times and making commission on all 13 of you!

Now think of it in terms of parties. If you have a party with $300 in sales, you basically earn $90 (30% of 300). If 4 people in your frontline have $300 parties, you basically earn $93.60 (12% of 65% of 300 x 4 parties). See how those 4 frontline consultants gave you about the same results as if you had done 2 parties yourself? That's what we mean when we say you're being doubled for ever 4 people in your frontline.

Now expand the frontline just a bit. If you have 12 people in your frontline and they each have a $300 party, you will basically earn $281 from their parties (12% of 65% of 300 x 12 parties) in addition to the $90 you earned from your own. For you to personally achieve the same earnings by yourself, you'd have to personally do 3 parties! Can you see how multiplying your effort through your frontline is such an amazing way to create ongoing residual wealth?

Do you really want to get excited? The above numbers were just assuming 1 party for each of the 12 frontline people. Many people have more than one party a week, let alone in a month. What if those 12 frontline consultants each had 4 parties in the month? You'd now earn $420 for your own 4 parties (35% instead of 30% of 300 x 4). And you'd earn $1,123 for your frontline's parties (12% of 65% of 300 x 12 consultants x 4 parties each)! You'd have to personally do 11 parties to earn that by yourself!

Won't it be nice to get paid your normal commission on 15 parties while only having to do 4 of them yourself! Even if you worked your tail off and booked 15 parties a month (1 every other day), what would you do the next month? And the next? You just might run through your LIST, burn out quickly, and maybe tick off your family in the process. Or you could do your regular 4 parties AND earn the money from your 12 person frontline each doing their 4. And you thought you just wanted to sell and not sponsor!

Do you want to get even more excited? What if you sponsored enough people in your frontline that 12 of them truly duplicated your effort and sponsored 12 more people each under them? When you're at the level of making 12% off your frontline (which isn't that far up the ranks), you're also making 6-7% off your frontline's frontline (called your 2nd level downline).

So you make 12% off the commissionable sales of your frontline (or 1st level). And you make 7% off your 2nd level downline. Now you have your effort being duplicated with every 4 people on your 1st level down and every 7 people on your 2nd level down. If each of your 12 best producing frontline had 12 more under them in their frontline, you'd be smoking it up big time! Let's run the numbers.

You're making $420 for your own 4 parties. And you're making $1,123 for your frontline's 4 parties. And you're making $7,862 for your 2nd level's parties (12 frontline x 12 they each sponsored x 4 parties each x 7% of 65% of $300 per party)! You'd have to personally do 75 parties to earn that much. You'd be hard-pressed to even do that many parties by yourself in a month if you wanted to! And yet, with everyone working together as a team, each only doing 4 per month, you get these huge numbers. Think that sounds crazy?

If you sponsored at least 12 people who sponsored at least 12 people, you'd have an organization of over 144 people. That's nothing in network marketing circles! Now, do you want to get lose sleep every night until you're lying on a beach somewhere excited? Let's run some more numbers.

You make 12% off your frontline (your 1st level). You make 7% off your frontline's frontline (your 2nd level). You also make 3-5% off your frontline's frontline's frontline (your 3rd level). What would it look like if the 12 you sponsored in turn sponsored 12 each who then went out and sponsored 12 each themselves? Well for one thing, you'd have a team of 1,728. Still a small team in network marketing circles.

So you're making $420 for your own 4 parties. And you're making $1,123 for your frontline's 4 parties. And you're making $7,862 for your 2nd level's parties. AND you're now making $67,392 for your 3rd level's parties (12 frontline x 12 they each sponsored x 12 they each sponsored x 4 parties each x 5% of 65% of $300 per party)! Added up, you've made $76,797! And next month is coming!!!!!

You'd have to do 731 parties to achieve this personally! That's 25 parties a day! This is the power of the numbers game we're playing! This is what you're building when you're out there on the road, heading to another party where you just might sign up another frontline consultant. How do you know if she might be the one who'll sign up 40? It's all in the numbers. And the numbers are all about the networking.

If you have 12 frontline in your 1st level and they each sponsor 12, you will have 144 in your 2nd level. And if those 144 each sponsor 12, you will have 1,728 people in your 3rd level. That means you'll have at least 1,729 people on your team. And if each of those people did just 4 parties a month with $300 in sales, you'd be a millionaire in a year. And we've not even gotten into the nearly infinite commissions based on the total sales volume of every team manager in your downline (called generational overrides)!

You might have figured out by now that you could be pretty darn ecstatic with less than 12 sponsoring 12 sponsoring 12. And that's the point. If you got into this business thinking, “I'll just sign up to use the nails and sell a little to my friends,” you might want to rethink that!!!! This compensation plan isn't designed to pay you high rewards for personally doing tons of work. The compensation plan is designed to motivate you to sponsor others who will duplicate your work. And with each person doing a little, a lot is achieved! Retail. Recruit. Repeat. Until you're rich.

So sponsor that frontline! Become a sponsoring machine! But don't stop there. Invest in your frontline by helping them sponsor their frontline. By helping them, you'll make more. And don't stop there. By helping your frontline to sponsor their own frontline, you're training them to repeat the process and duplicate your work on down the line to an infinite number of levels. The beauty of our business is that we only profit when our partners do. Rather than rats racing like they do in white collar jobs or hamsters spinning wheels like they do in blue collar jobs, we work together as a team and earn a profit off the profit we help others earn.

We have seen how 1,728 people in your team doing one decent sized party per week could earn you $76,797 per month. There are hundreds of millions of people in the United States and Canada!! That's not that many people! This is why the LIST is so important. And the LIST of your frontline. And on down the line.

You might think these numbers are unrealistic. Where's all the money coming from? How can they pay that much out? Well, think of it this way: How many billions of dollars of products are sold through traditional stores every day? And how many people are employed by those stores making tens and hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars each? And how many of the families of the owners of those stores are multi-billionaires? There's a lot of money in the world. And most of the money moves through the movement of products.

Network marketing is such an efficient way of doing business. It sounds too good to be true. But just imagine how the children of Sam Walton felt when he said he was taking his store national! Or international! Do you think maybe those midwestern children could grasp how much a billion dollars was back then? Now they all know what multiple billions feels like.

And it might feel really foreign to think that you could book a decent party every week and train enough other people to do the same thing on down a line and make thousands or even millions of dollars for it. But it's no less real than the empire that is Wal-Mart.

Playing the Numbers Game

Here's a little secret that you might not have been told yet. Jamberry Nails is a fun business! We get paid to model nails for people! And we get paid for all the people who model nails as part of our team! We get to make women feel beautiful and “made up” for a fraction of the cost of going to a salon and a fraction of the time it takes to polish.

We get to gather with women in living rooms all over the country and just have fun with them! We meet new friends, some who will become lifelong companions and business partners. We get to enjoy the “Who knew?” looks on the faces of thousands of women who had no idea there was an easy and affordable alternative to nail polish. And the “Who knew?” looks intensify when women who've been down on their luck are shown a new and exiting way to make a residual income.

So set your goals. Set them as high as you can realistically achieve and run hard after them. But relax! Upbeat, enthusiastic consultants are more successful than uptight, stressed ones. Don't forget, being a Jamberry Nails independent consultant is fun! It's so awesome because it is NOT sitting in an office for eight hours a day or dealing with customers who stiff us on tips on the only night we're scheduled to work.

Who gets to earn money like us? Who gets paid to party with other women and maybe travel to other cities and shop in new malls and catch up with old friends and make new ones? Who gets paid according to what they're actually worth, instead of what someone else says they're worth? Who works a job that is only limited by their willingness to work? While some people will never rise above their current job, we can rise as high as our ambition lets us! We can soar and challenge ourselves with new goals any time we want. And when we achieve those goals, we actually get rewarded for it!

Putting on a new monthly exclusive nail wrap is fun. Wearing them out for the world to see is fun. It feels good when women at the store or next to us at a sporting event notice our nails. And it feels good when we can actually offer those women more than envy. We can hook her up with what we have! And she can even get paid to wear them!

Home parties are fun. Women get together and laugh and enjoy each other. Our business doesn't grow through boring or intimidating sales or opportunity meetings. We grow our business while playing entertaining games with ladies we've probably never met!

It's exciting to put a calendar on the wall and see how many dates we can fill in with “JAMBERRY PARTY”! It's exciting to anticipate how many parties we might book from the one we're doing tonight! Or how many bright women will ask to join our team because they see how much we love our work and want what we have. Or how much commission we'll make from just Facebook parties in a month! Or just how fast we can move through the ranks!

And even if no one books a party from the one we'll do tonight or no one wants to sign up in our team, we don't get discouraged. We know that the challenge is part of what makes the business fun! There will be more parties, more contacts, more money. Always more. We didn't ask for easy! We asked for a chance – a chance to own our lives instead of giving them to someone else to use.

It's thrilling to think about just how big our business could get if we work it hard and smart! A team of 100? Or 1,000? Or 10,000? Or even 100,000!? There are people in other network marketing businesses with several hundred thousand in their downline teams!!! Imagine receiving a percentage of the sales volume of a quarter of a million distributors! It's happened before and it will keep happening. It will happen with our without our involvement. So we make sure it happens with us!

Jamberry Nails is the best thing going! We have a great product that truly sells itself. We have a great company with a terrific story. We have an awesome compensation plan that rewards us for doing all the right things. We have a wide open market! We're on the front end of the newest craze!!!! What would it have been like to own the first stock in Microsoft or Apple or Facebook? What we have is better! Jamberry Nails is for real GROUND-FLOOR!

It's been said that Mary Kay has made more women millionaires than any other company. And these days, we probably all know a Mary Kay consultant. Imagine being one of those women who first saw the vision of a home-based cosmetics company! They saw what could be and they refused to be left behind.

And that's us now with Jamberry Nails! We have that opportunity with a brand new product. The entire U.S. and Canada are wide open! The early adopters – the ones who see when others refuse to – are rewarded with future wealth. We'll rise to the challenge. We'll see just how far and fast we can ride this new wave. The harder we work now, the bigger our teams will be later. But we're not afraid of hard work because our work is so darn FUN!

And since our work is fun, we're going to think a little bit about a new game. It's not a new game to try on the ladies at our home parties. It's a game that will make our business explode. It's the numbers game and everyone who has ever built a huge network enjoys playing it. It goes like this:

There are billions of people in the world. Hundreds of millions in Canada and the U.S. That's a lot of women! The majority of those women like to look beautiful. And we have an affordable, easy to use product that helps them achieve that goal. In addition to wanting to look beautiful, the changing economy has left many households looking to make up income gaps. We have one of the hottest ways to make immediate money AND build a residual income with retirement-on-a-beach type potential. How can we not be optimistic?

If we do the basic activities required of this business consistently and often, we will succeed. Use the products. Sell some to others through the parties. Recruit other people to do the same thing. Train them to repeat the process. Retail. Recruit. Repeat. Retail. Recruit. Repeat. Those are the rules to the numbers game.

If you keep retailing, recruiting, and repeating often enough and long enough (sometimes only a few years), you will break through to success. You will work through all the ones who aren't interested in our product (Perish the thought!) and find the ones who are. And you'll find the ones who don't want to build Jamberry empires (Again, perish the thought!) and invest in the ones who do. And you and the ones you've invested in will blow this thing sky high That's the reward for the winners of the numbers game. The only losers are the ones who quit early before all that effort pays you.

Using the Catalog

If we're going to build gigantic Jamberry business empires or even tiny Jamberry pay-the-car-payment businesses, we're going to have to build a network of contacts. Some of those contacts we've already met. They're part of our LIST. Other contacts are future people we haven't met yet. Among future contacts are people we are deliberately looking for when we're out prospecting for our business, and people we happen to run into when our business is the last thing on our minds (if that's possible).

Professionals in network marketing are always ready to build their network of contacts. They exchange business cards with people they meet and usually carry some prospecting tool that they hand out to people that requires a follow up. Many carry a CD or DVD that explains their business opportunity or their products as a type of introduction that prepares them for a more in-depth presentation of their business. Network marketers make everyone they meet a deliberate relationship with the intention of becoming friends.

We are so fortunate in Jamberry Nails. We have a terrific tool to help us with exposure. It couldn't be better designed than it is to work for us. It's the catalog. Anyone who has ever had a copy made at Staples knows it's no cheap thing. Add color on one glossy sheet of paper, and it could be over a dollar a copy. That's one of the reasons the Jamberry Nails catalog is so awesome. It's inexpensive. We would expect to pay more than 60 cents for a full color, professionally made, magazine-quality book. We can't get one color copy on regular paper for that! So Jamberry Nails hooks us up with a terrific marketing tool at an awesome price.

While the price of the catalog is sweet, the multifaceted way it can be used is the real benefit. Has someone seen your nails at the store and wondered if there's a style she would love? Pull out a catalog. She'll get hundreds of styles in full color right before her eyes. Or maybe you've told a girl working at a mall kiosk that you actually get paid to wear your nails, and she wants to know how. You pull a catalog out of your purse and show her the basic business opportunity from the back. Maybe that same girl thinks it sounds great, but wonders if people are really making money from it. You can just point out some of the very real and normal ladies who have placed small biographies throughout the catalog. Maybe one of your friends is thinking about hosting a party and wants to know what's in it for her. You can pull out a catalog and show her the rewards in the back. So whether you're talking about shopping for nails, hosting a party, or joining your team, the catalog is the perfect introduction for each.

When we hand someone a catalog, we are giving them a tool with unlimited potential for future sales and business partners. Someone may take a catalog from you merely wanting to buy some nails, sit down with it at home, and get so fired up over the products that she wants to know how she can profit from it as well. And right there in the catalog is just enough information to get her excited about the possibilities. She sees the front end compensation plan and the very low cost to join. We very well might a get a call back from someone we weren't even expecting.

So here's how a prospecting encounter might happen using a catalog. Remember, this is just a possible script. We're not all that worried about saying just the right things. The more basic, the better, since there's nothing complex about our business. It's so easy to let the catalog do all the work.

Picture it. We're walking the mall with a pack of catalogs in our purse. We might be in the mall deliberately to make contacts because malls put people with money to spend in a place where they can spend it and foster a mood to purchase. Or we might be there because our business is going so well, we're there to buy some clothes to match our newest nail wraps! Either way, we never leave the house without a pack of catalogs on our person at all times (unless you don't care about making money in this business).

We happen to see a fashionable, confident looking woman browsing the racks in a store. There are any number of ways to talk to her, once we decide that we WILL talk to her and nothing catastrophic is going to happen. Sea levels won't rise. Children won't cry. Animals won't go into a frenzy in neighboring homes. No one will look up from their shopping. Employees won't stop working and look for the source of the noise. We're just going to be our friendly selves and talk about something we love!

Talk to her. We have nothing to be embarrassed about in this business. We have an awesome product that women love. Not only that, we have people asking us to be part of our team all the time. They take one look at our catalog or our nails and just instinctively know that women everywhere would buy them. So they know it's easy money. The only reason that nearly every woman in any mall in America right now isn't enthralled by Jamberry Nails is because we have not done a good enough job yet in making them AWARE that they even exist. If we make women AWARE, then they will tell us what part they want to play in our business: customer, hostess, or team-member.

So here's a possible straightforward way of talking to a woman at the mall. “Excuse me, can you help me?” She's probably not going to say, “NO. Go away!” If she does say that, then simply go away. Easy, right? When she acknowledges you, hold up the catalog and just say, “I'm expanding my business in this area and wondered if you know of anyone who'd be interested in these.” And we give her the catalog.

The woman is going to do one of two things. She's either going to take the catalog and continue the conversation with us, or she's going to brush us off in some manner. If she takes the catalog, then we just talk with her. We know how to talk, don't we? People don't mind hearing about new things if they're valuable. And Jamberry Nails are valuable. So we interact with her. Answer her questions. Most importantly, we let the catalog do the work. All we did was connect the catalog to someone who might love it. Or she might know someone who would.

If she says that SHE would be interested in them, then say, “If I give you this catalog, would you know of any friends who would also be interested. We specialize in home parties and you could get some great free stuff for hosting.” If she says yes, then pencil in a date then and there. If she says no, then offer the catalog to her anyway. It has your business information on the back and everything she needs to know in order to build excitement is IN the catalog. We need to let it work for us. We thank her for her time and move on the the next person.

Remember, it's all about the timing. It's not personal. The more people we make aware of Jamberry Nails, the greater the chances of finding the people who will fall in love with them and the business opportunity. The faster we do this, the more momentum we'll build and the more money we'll make. The flashy, unique nature of our product gives us an advantage over so many network marketing products out there. We don't have to work as hard to help our contacts see the value in our products. They see it immediately, on our hands and in the catalog.

On the back cover of every catalog is a space for our contact information. Though any method would probably work, we've found the 1” by 2 5/8” or similar sized printable label fits perfectly into this spot on the back. We can put our contact information including name, phone number, e-mail address, and our personal Jamberry Nails website. There are sites online where you can have labels printed up pretty reasonably in bulk.

All Jamberry Nails are purchased through an independent consultant (even on the Jamberry Nails website). Anyone who wants to sign up as a Jamberry Nails consultant must do so through the sponsorship of independent consultants. This enables every catalog to be used as a self-contained prospecting tool.

Because women who want to purchase products, host a party, or join the business have to do so through an already existing consultant, it's never a “waste” to give away catalogs. Do not be stingy with them! Give them out to anyone who'll take them. Of course, it's always most beneficial to speak with the people we're giving the catalog to. But because of the high profile nature of our product, it's not crucial. People will still be intrigued by the product and the business plan, even if all they have to go off of is a catalog.

So we give the catalogs to folks on our LIST. We give them to folks we run into while we're out. We prospect with the catalog and try to book parties with friends, family, and folks we meet on the go. We can even gain referrals from men we run into if we hand them a catalog and ask them if they know of anyone who'd be interested in the nail wraps. In short, we hand the catalog out like the eye candy it is. We don't think of the cost, because the potential benefits outweigh the cost.

It's been said that anything worth doing is worth doing well. That's true, which is why we seek to be as intentional and perfect as possible in making contacts. However, the opposite is also true. Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing! So, if contacting new people about our business is worth doing, it's worth doing as well as we can with what we have. On the other hand, if contacting new people about our business is worth doing, it's worth doing poorly if that's all we can do at any given time.

So, perhaps we're sitting alone in the dentist's office, thinking of all the business building we could be doing if we weren't sitting in the dentist's office. Of course, we're rocking our nails and are ready to tell whoever asks that we get paid to wear them. And we're thinking of ways to tell the ladies working the desk. We're even wondering how we can tell the assistant with that suction hose down our mouth. But here's a little something we can do in the meantime. We can leave a catalog or two conspicuously on each table in the waiting area. Is it ideal? That depends. Do we believe the product sells itself or don't we?

Would it usually be better if we had a real life person to talk to while handing a catalog out? Yes. But is that the only thing we can do? Of course not. Leave them things everywhere. The oil change places in town. Doctor's offices. Dentists. Hair salons. Everywhere we see magazines laying around. If we only have five minutes to spare in a day, we can hand out twenty catalogs to the first twenty women who'll take them in the mall. Is it ideal? No. Is it worth doing anyway? That depends on how much we believe in our product. Maybe nothing will come of it. But it only take a few of the right people to see it and our business could change forever.
